A repositioning project, transforming two tired office buildings into a highly sustainable campus focused entirely on ESG and wellness. The buildings are net zero carbon, BREEAM Outstanding, Fitwel 3*, Five at Heart accredited, Wiredscore Platinum, RESET accredited and EPC B. Each building has undergone major refurbishment resulting in design-led space offering tenants a wide selection of amenities including two cafes, a large indoor and outdoor gym, an auditorium, allotments, an outdoor cinema and an outdoor working area.
Previously owned by an owner occupier, these were very private buildings, closed off and uninviting. Our task has been to transform them into modern flexible workplaces, creating the Thames Valley's greenest buildings, focused on net zero carbon and a BREEAM Outstanding rating.
We’ve achieved this by scrutinising the specifications at every design stage of Here + Now, reducing the use of materials, fixtures and fittings that were surplus to requirements. Small and simple adjustments — such as achieving the same light quality with fewer light fittings — create a large impact.

Responsibility
To create the Thames Valley's greenest buildings, focusing on net zero carbon and BREEAM outstanding. We achieved this by scrutinising the specifications at every design stage and reducing materials/fixtures/fittings that were surplus to requirement. For example achieving the same light quality by reducing number of light fittings. Many of these small adjustments led to a larger impact.
